Scene 7

Characters: Ace, Batman, and Joker

Set: Streets of Gotham

Joker: (drives out to the streets of Gotham and smashes in to a car getting on the road) Took you long enough.

Ace gives a quick glance and disgusted sigh.

Batman pulls out onto the streets with the batpod.

Ace: (looking through rear view mirror) Don’t look now.

Joker: (looks through his rear view mirror) Oh, when will that guy learn to give up.

Ace: Agreed, but you’ve got to admit that is one sweet bike!

Joker: (takes out a machine gun) Take the wheel.

Ace: (gives a nervous chuckle) Funny, now what’s your real plan?

Joker leans out the window

Ace: Wait you can’t be serious. Joker! One day I swear... (taking the wheel)

Joker tries to shoot batman laughing

Batman throws a baterang at Joker

The baterang sticks in the Jokers arm

Joker gives a cry of pain, drops the gun on the street and climes back into the truck

Ace: Your going want me to tape that up won’t you.

Joker: Oh, be quiet. Hand me that can by your feet.

Ace: (picks up can and looks at it) Why was there nitroglycerin by my feet?

Joker: In case I felt like a bang. Now give it here.

Ace hands Joker the can.

Joker throws it out the window.

It hits the nose of a car and blows up flipping the car on its roof

The car blocks Batman’s way and he swerves to a halt.

Joker laughs

Ace: (quietly) You’re crazy.

Joker: What?

Ace: Nothing, nothing.

The Dynamic Duo- Scene 6

Scene 6

Characters: Ace Batman

Set: Bank Rooftop/ Parking garage

Batman checks for the Joker, runs to grenade scoops it up and runs to the bank’s now empty safe, throws the grenade in, closes the safe, and goes after Ace.

Ace runs to the end of the roof and slides to a halt, gives a short scream.

Batman: Don’t look down.

Ace: (spins around) Oh, right you’re going to take the 12 year old rather than the grenade.

Batman: You’re out of moves.

Ace: Ok. You know I liked that game, (moving to the edge of the roof) let's play another. Catch! (flings herself over the edge of the roof)

Batman runs after Ace, dives over the edge of the roof, and catches up to Ace.

Ace grabs a hold of Batman.

Batman pulls out grappling gun, swings over to a parking garage lands and on the ground.

Ace: (lets go of Batman and falls to the ground) Woo, what a rush.

Batman: You’re insane!

Ace: (getting up) I had a good mentor.

Batman: That fall could have killed you!

Ace: You wouldn’t have let me die would you?

Joker drives to where Ace and Batman are, stops with a screech and opens passenger door for Ace.

Ace tries to run to the truck

Batman: (grabs Ace by wrist) Not yet, Ace!

Ace: Ow! Batman, let go! (trying to pry herself free)

Batman: Why are you doing this?!

Ace: Batman you’re hurting me! Please let go!

Batman: Why!

Ace: (kick Batman under the chin and dose a back flip) Because I have no choice. (runs to the truck, gets in and closes the door)

Scene 5

Characters: Joker, Ace, Batman, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9

Set: National Bank

Joker: #5, clean up shop. We don’t want to be a slob for Batsy.

Ace: (shudder) I’d better get use to sites like this. (starting to walk around)

(clowns empting the banks safe in the background)

Joker: Where are you going Acey?

Ace: Oh, I don’t know maybe go and check out that vault that the boys just cracked.

Joker: Sounds like...

Ace: Sh (hearing sound on the roof) what’s that? (whispering)

Joker: The Batman. (with a mischievous smile) Boys, battle stations!

Ace hurries off camera

#2: He’s here, boss?

Joker: Yes, my good man. Oh, and by the way, what’s your

Batman crashes through window

Clowns attack batman

Batman bashes together the heads of #2 and #3, then punches #4 in the gut.

#4 grabs his stomach.

Batman elbows #4 in the back of the head.

Ace watching this from the background.

Batman spins to #5 behind him and socks him in the side of head.

#6 attacks Batman from behind by trying to strangle him.

Batman flings #6 on top of #7.

#8 tries to punch Batman in the face.

Batman grabs punch and hits #8 in side.

#9 tries to kick Batman in the side.

Batman grabs kick and snaps #9’s leg at the knee.

Joker: Tut, tut those were my best men, too.

Batman: How?

Joker: Oh please, have you forgotten already? You should know there would be a Joker in the deck.

Batman: And you should know that I won’t be taken down that easy.

Joker: My dear Batman, I always have an Ace up my sleeve.

Ace runs toward Batman, does a backbend off his shoulders, lands by Joker.

Joker: And here she is.

Batman: A little young Joker.

Joker: They’re never to young, Batsy. Besides they’re so much fun. Acey, why don’t you show Batman what you got.

Ace: I’d rather not.

Joker: Oh, don’t be so coy. (pushes Ace forward)

Ace: Well, if you insist. (taking stance)

Joker slips of set while Ace and Batman fight

Batman: I don’t want you to hurt you.

Ace: You won’t.

Batman: (tacking stance) You don’t know what you’re getting in to, Ace.

Ace tries to kick Batman in the side.

Batman grabs kick.

Ace: Tell me something I don’t know.

Batman pushes kick away

Ace and Batman walk in a circle, clock wise.

Batman tries to sock Ace in the side of head.

Ace: (ducks, spins around behind Batman, kicks Batman’s leg at the joint, socks Batman in the side of head.) You’re going to have to try harder than that, Batman.

Batman: (kicks Aces legs out from under her and gets up) How’s this?

Ace kicks Batman’s legs out from under him gets up and steps on his throat.

Batman grabs foot.

Ace: Amusing, but pointless.

Batman: (throws Ace off of him and gets up) You’re too young for this.

Ace: Perhaps, (pulls out a grenade out of her pack) but I also know when to bale. (pulls the pin and throws the grenade behind her) Go fetch. (takes off to the roof)

The Dynamic Duo- Scene 4

Scene 4

Characters: Ace, Joker, Batman, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, and #9 (Clowns), Bank Guards 1 2 3 4 and 5, Thieves 1 and 2, Alfred (voice through phone)

Set: National Bank/Alley

#2 puts C4 on the backdoor of the bank, sticks a detonator in the putty, lights the fuse and retreats back to the armored truck

C4 explodes

Joker Ace and Clowns go in to the bank through exploded back door

Thieves 1 and 2 run into a alley way that has a dead end, turns to exit

Batman drops in front of exit

Thief 1 pulls out a gun

Batman: Oh please...

Joker Ace and the Clowns walk into the center of lobby

Guards around the outside of lobby

Joker: Good evening, gentlemen,

Batman (in alley) knocks guns out of Thief’s hands using baterang

Joker: Tonight I’m feeling merciful,

Batman kicks Thief 1 in the chest, knocking the wind out of him.

Joker: I’ll give you to the count of 100 to clear the building,

Thief falls to ground.

Joker: then we’ll start shooting mad.

Thief 2 tries to hit Batman in the back of the head with crowbar.

Joker: One,

Batman grabs Thief 2 by wrist.

Joker: Two,

Batman spins around to the back of Thief 2 still holding on to wrist thrusts the thief’s arm upward.

Joker: skip a few Hundred. (starts shooting guards with Clowns)

Batman: (cuffing Thieves to dumpster) They usually pick up the trash at 1:00.

Batman: (in the batmobile, light flashing) Here we go again, (flicks switch next to flashing light)

Voice: GPS set to national bank.

Batman (presses button on roof)

Voice: please place call

Batman: Alfred

Voice: call placed

Alfred: Wayne manor,

Batman: Alfred, I’m going to be late tonight some things have come up. (starting engine)

Alfred: Very well master Bruce.

Batman: Later Alfred.

Scene 3

Characters: Ace, Joker, #9

Set: Joker’s office

#9 and Ace in the hall outside of Joker’s office

Ace: Did he seam anxious?

#9: No

Ace: Did he seam angry?

#9: No

Ace: Anything!

#9: No, he seemed perfectly sane.

Ace: Well, we all know that’s impossible. (opens door that leads to Joker’s office and goes in.) Joker, did you want me? (shyly)

Joker: (tunes around to Ace) Ah, Acey, there you are. Have a seat.

Ace sees flash back

(Flash back) Young Barbara screaming trying to get out of chair

Ace: (sharp gasp) I’d rather stand.

Joker: (sits down, picks up a deck of playing cards and starts shuffling them) Suit yourself.

Ace cautiously approaches desk and opens a packet of cards.

Joker: Gotham is weak Ace, ordinary people with ordinary lives with ordinary purposes.

Ace: True, but out of millions of “ordinaries” (fans out cards showing them to Joker, plops them on the table and stabs a knife into the fanned out playing cards) there’s always one extraordinary. (pulls knife from the desk, Card on knife with the Batman symbol on it, point out to Joker showing the card),or so I’ve heard. I haven’t really met this “Bat”...fellow.

Joker: Well he’s not like those pathetic people, he had a certain fire that most lack.

Ace: So you were impressed.

Joker: Yea, something like that.

Head Clown: (enters room) The truck is loaded, sir.

Joker: Good. Get the boys ready, we have a date to make.

Head Clown: Yes sir.

The Dynamic Duo- Scene 2

Scene 2

Characters: Joker, Ace, Practice Clowns 1,2,3,4 and 5, #9

Set: Joker’s Place

Screen: 6 years later

Joker facing window looking out to Gotham

Clown: Ace is practicing Boss.

Joker: Good, bring her here.

Clown: Yes Sir

Ace mounts beam Practice Clown 1 does likewise.

Practice Clown 1 goes to punch Ace in face

Ace grabs punch at wrist, punches Practice Clown 1 in the face and elbows Practice Clown 1 in the elbow

Practice Clown 1 falls of beam to the left

Ace spins around to Practice Clown 2 behind her

Practice Clown 2 goes to punch Ace in the face

Ace knocks away punch, punches Practice Clown 2 in the stomach

Practice Clown 2 bends down and grabs stomach

Ace knocks Practice Clown 2 in the side of the head.

Practice Clown 2 falls off beam to the left

Ace dismounts beam on to floor (2 back handspring, double back flip)

Practice Clown 3 charges Ace with board to chest

Ace brakes board (punch)

Practice Clown 3 tries to knock Ace on the side of the head.

Ace grabs Practice Clown 3’s wrist and twists it behind his back, kicks Practice Clown 3 in the back.

Practice Clown 3 falls down on his face

Practice Clown 4 charges Ace with board to chest

Ace brakes board (kick)

Tries to kick Practice Clown 4 in the side

Practice Clown 4 grabs kick

Ace kicks Practice Clown 4 under chin and does 1 back handspring, spins around to Practice Clown 5 behind her

Practice Clown 5 charges Ace with board above head, tries to smash it down on top of Ace’s head

Ace braces board (thrust palm up)

Practice Clown 5 tries to knock Ace in the side of the head twice

Ace ducks twice

Ace ducks twice, kicks her legs out from under her, swishes Practice Clown 5’s legs out from under him, (will still down) kicks him in the side

Practice Clowns moaning

Ace: Now I didn’t hit you that hard.

Head Clown: (entering room) Ace, the Boss wants you.

Ace: The Boss? (exits room in a hurry)

The Dynamic Duo – Scene 1

Scene 1

Characters: Young Barbara, Commissioner Gordon, Detective Bolt, Doctors 1 and 2, Joker (flash back)

Set: Chamber in Arkham

Screen: Fleet of bats form a dark symbol, the symbol of the Batman. The bats seem to explode from the center and fly forward at first then out in all directions. The bats regroup and fly off the screen to the right. In a flurry of red a American Red Robin flies off with them at the end.

Commissioner Gordon and Detective Bolt looking in through window

Detective Bullock: A couple of boys found her at Joker’s.

Commissioner Gordon: Any Joker?

Detective Bullock: Nope. We tried interrogating some of his clowns and they won’t talk.

Commissioner Gordon: They’re smart. They know what will happen to them if they blab.

Doctor 1: (walks out door to Commissioner Gordon) Commissioner, she’s ready.

Commissioner Gordon: Ok

Walks through the door to the chamber with Doctor 1 and Detective Bollock

Commissioner Gordon approaches Young Barbara

Young Barbara looks at Commissioner Gordon breathing wildly

Commissioner Gordon: Look at her, she’s terrified. Why is she tied down?

Doctor 1: We aren’t sure how long she’s been with the Joker. It’s likely she’s suffered the same effects.

Young Barbara gives a frantic whimper and breathing speeds up

Commissioner Gordon: (gets down to Young Barbara’s eye level) Shhhhh, we’re not going to hurt you. We just want to know your name.

Young Barbara’s breathing slows a little but still rapid

Commissioner Gordon: (stroking Young Barbara’s hair. Young Barbara flinches) Shhhhh, listen we’re not going to hurt you. We just want to know your name.

Young Barbara’s breathing slows.

Commissioner Gordon: Can you tell us that?

Young Barbara sees flash back

(Flash back) Joker hitting Young Barbara with fists, Joker laughs

Young Barbara: (gives a short scream) I’m sorry I can’t. (whispering)

Commissioner Gordon: (laying a sympathetic hand on the side of Young Barbara’s face) What’ll happen to her?

Doctor 2: The mayor doesn’t want us to say.

Commissioner Gordon: (sigh) Well, take care of her. ( gets up) She’s probably suffered a lot.

Doctor 1 and 2 shove Young Barbara into a room with other sickly looking children (Arkham Children)

Young Barbara looks around rapidly

Older Arkham Child: (gently grabs Young Barbara by the arm) Hey it’s going to be ok.

Young Barbara: Thanks
